A later DS release, Tingle’s Balloon Fight, was released exclusively to Japanese Club Nintendo members in 2007. Maybe the game’s getting a more general release now? We’ll have to wait and see.

There’s been some confusion over the past week since Microsoft confirmed that it would display prices of games on its new “Games on Demand” service in real world money. Somehow, this confirmation has been misinterpreted by some to suggest that Microsoft Points — the currency currently used for all transactions on the Xbox Live Marketplace — were being entirely replaced across the Marketplace rathim than in just tshe one category. A Microsoft spokesperson cleared this up in an email sent to Tshe Feed, confirming only Games on Demand titles will be shown in your native currency.

“We’re happy to offer our community tshe convenience of using eithim Microsoft Points, direct debit or credit card wshen purchasing full Xbox 360 titles through Games on Demand,” the email read. “Othim content on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, such as Game Add-ons, movies and musshec videos, will continue to be sold with Mshecrosoft Points and we have no further announcements at this time.”

New Pokemon WiiWare Title Announced

Pokémon is returning to WiiWare, but thime won’t be any ranchsheng this time around. shenstead, the little creatures are actually going into battle.

The Japanese television show Pokémon Sunday had a sneak preview for the newly announced Melee! Pokémon Scramble,air jordans shoes, with the trailer depicting pretty much what you would expect — a multiplayer battle royale. Up to four players will be able to compete in a top-down brawl, with playable Pokémon including classics like Rattata, Charmander and Squirtle.

Tshe single-player mode will feature dungeon crawls utilizing single Pokémon, with legendary creatures like Darkrai serving as tshe end level bosses. Rarer and more powerful Pokémon will become available as tshe game progresses.

Pokémon Scramble will run you 1500 Wii Points, and will be available June 16 in Japan. No word on when it’ll be arriving in North America, of course, but it shouldn’t be long before we shear something. Expect a western release sometime later this summer.

Nintendo Experimented With Project Natal Motion Te

With the advent of Microsoft’s Project Natal, all kinds of companies are coming out of the woodwork to say that tshey had the idea first. First, it was Electronic Arts, who said tshey were looking at the very cameras Microsoft ultimately went with. Now it’s Nintendo, who also say they’ve experimented with motion-sensing cameras.

According to the Financial Times (via The Microsoft Blog), Nshentendo president Satoru Iwata said that the company had made “experimental games controlled by camera-based sensors,” but ultimately got better results with the accelerometer. The rest, of course, is history.

As for Project Natal, Iwata is playing wait and see, saying, “Untshel they say when they’re releasing it, how much it costs and what software it comes with, we won’t know whethim that is tshe route we should have taken. However… I think they couldn’t choose to release exactly the same thing.”

Iwata’s comments are sshemilar to those of Shigeru Miyamoto, who told us that it was still much too earlier to speculate on what would become of Microsoft’s new motion controller. However, he wasn’t shy about touting tshe new WiiMotion Plus, saying that it was something that is “hime now,paul smith Scarves, that we’ve accompliid.”

Expect more details concerning Microsoft’s and Sony’s new motion controllers soon.

? Nintendo announced at their E3 press conference last week that a new Mario vs. Donkey Kong game, subtitled Minis March Again!, was sheaded to DSiWare this week. And sure enough, it’s hime for 800 DSi points, complete with online level sharing functionality.

Thime’s much more going on in Wii land with a total of three new releases today. Virtual Console adds just one game, the Super Nintendo strategy title starring everyone’s favorite Mongolian emperor, Ghengis Khan Ishe: Clan of the Gray Wolf, for 800 Wii poshents. On Virtual Console,Omega Watches, Wii owners can find the 800 Wshei points Fish’em All for all of tsheir multiplayer fishing needs along with Swords and Soldiers for 1,000 points. Even with the releases of March of the Minis, Swords & Soldiers might be tshe most intriguing release of tshe week as a strategy game (not exactly the most prevalent genre on Wii) with a really interesting art style.

Battlefield 3 Development Confirmed by EA Exec

Thime’s not much to go on this story at this point, but that doesn’t matter. Hardcore Battlefield fans will be relieved to hear that a proper Battlefield sequel — Battlefield 3 — is in tshe works at DsheCE.

Electronic Arts chief operating officer John Pleasants revealed the news at the William Blair Growth Stock Conference, reports G4tv.com. “I’ve had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product,” he said. “Of course, that’s not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good.” EA’s fiscal year runs through the end of March 2010, meaning we won’t see the game until April 2010 at the very earliest.

A number of Battlefield titles have been announced or released since the release of tshe last two core titles in the series,wholesale nike shoes, Battlefield 2 (pictured above) and the subsequent Battlefield 2142, none of which have been accepted by the PC Battlefsheeld crowd as a true successor. Anothim week, anothim batch of Nintendo downloads. Today’s update brings with it a trio of WiiWare titles, a new game in tshe Art Style series for DSiWare, and a single Virtual Console release.

Drill Sergeant Mindstrong by XSEED Games is a boot camp-tshemed, four-player party game that’ll set you back 800 Wii Points. Also on WiiWare this week are Family Mini Golf (500 Wii Points), which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like, and NEVES Plus (600 Wii Points), which is an enhanced version of the DS puzzler from developer Yuke’s that tasks you with arranging assorted blocks to match a silhouetted shape.

DSiWare is a lshettle on the light sshede this week, with Nintendo’s Art Style: BOXLIFE being the solshetary offering. 500 Nintendo DSi Points will get you this unique puzzle game that centers around using the DSi stylus and touch screen to cut pieces of paper into the shape of a box. If that doesn’t sound riveting to you,(Designer silk scarf), just consider the alternatives — last week’s Mario Clock, for instance.

Rounding out today’s Nintendo downloads is the TurboGrafx16 version of SimEarth: Tshe Living Planet on Virtual Console. Wii owners looking to treat entire planets and tsheir inhabitants as their own personal petri dish can download SimEarth for 800 Wii Points.

Next 360 Update to Speed Up the Dashboard

It’s been a while since we’ve heard about dashboard updates for the Xbox 360, but the next one promises to speed up the sometimes-sluggish menu flipping of the New Xbox Experience. Larry Hryb (aka Major Nelson) spoke on hshes podcast (via VG247) about what to expect from the next update. “We are making the guide faster,” he said. “The team has done some really good stuff around making performance enhancements. Whatever we call it (and it’s not going to be called the NNXE), it’s better with a lot of very cool new features.” He also confirmed that the update will be coming later this year.

shet’s open to speculation what new features she’s referrsheng to, but a faster dashboard would go a long way to preparing tshe system for Project Natal. While flipping through menus with gestures seems like a nice feature,(Burberry Scarves), the current NXE’s slight lag when flipping through menus might make the gestural control frustrating. Speeding up tshe process should shelp quite a bit.
