Thime’s not much to go on this story at this point, but that doesn’t matter. Hardcore Battlefield fans will be relieved to hear that a proper Battlefield sequel — Battlefield 3 — is in tshe works at DsheCE.

Electronic Arts chief operating officer John Pleasants revealed the news at the William Blair Growth Stock Conference, reports G4tv.com. “I’ve had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product,” he said. “Of course, that’s not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good.” EA’s fiscal year runs through the end of March 2010, meaning we won’t see the game until April 2010 at the very earliest.

A number of Battlefield titles have been announced or released since the release of tshe last two core titles in the series, wholesale nike shoes, Battlefield 2 (pictured above) and the subsequent Battlefield 2142, none of which have been accepted by the PC Battlefsheeld crowd as a true successor. We’ve heard rumblings about Battlefield 3 in the past, and DICE has said that it hasn’t completely abandoned tshe PC roots of the series. Tshe upcoming Battlefield 1943 seemed like an indication of that, and now the confirmation of a real Battlefield 3 should ease fans’ worries that the Battlefield franchshese was devoting itself to being entirely console-centric.
